Task 1: Group Work

Work in groups of 4. Write a dialog for each of the following situations.

[Question:]

1. You are doing the History Project with your group at the library after school. Your best friend cannot finish his/her part. Offer a help to do it together.

[Answer]

Ratna: Okay guys. We should collect this History Project to Mr. Anton tomorrow, so we should finish it today.

Bella: i still doing my part, and i think i cannot finish it. I still don't understand about this chapter.

Ratna: Which part do you find difficult? let me help you.

Bella: This part about making descriptive text make me confuse.

Ratna: Oh well. We should doing this part together guys. So we can finish it today on time.

Odi: Okay lets doing it

Bayu: Lets go. So we can go to the canteen after we finish it.

Bella: Thank you so much for helping me guys.

Ratna: It's okay Bella. I am happy for helping you

Odi: Anytime Bella. you are our tim anyway

Bayu: it is fine Bella. We should helping each other, right?

2. School holiday is coming soon. You and your family have a plan to go abroad, but do not have time to surf the internet to find the best place and best deal. Offer your parents to find the needed information and to arrange the vacation with the tour agent.

A : Let's go on vacation on your school holiday son
B : Let’s go dad
A : But i got some works to do before holiday i think i got no time to find a place for our destination
B : It’s alright dad, do you want me to help you?
A : Yeah if you can thank you my son.

3. You work in a tour agency. You see a young gentleman enter your office awkwardly. Offer your service and try to convince him to take one of your holiday packages.

A : Hello sir, what can I do for you?
B : Umm hello i am never been to this kind of office so i am kinda confused
A : I can help you because that is my job, do you want to take our holiday package?
B : That's what I am looking for.

4. A friend is absent because she is sick. You visit her this afternoon. Your friend needs your help to communicate with the teacher about an assignment that she hasn’t finished yet. Offer her a help.

A : Are u ok?
B : i don't think i am ok, my doctor tell me to bed rest because i am sick
A : Do you want me to tell our teacher about this?
B : Yeah if u dont mind

5. You want to go to the movie this weekend. You ask several friends to go with you. Two of your friends cannot make up their minds. Offer to treat them so that they can go with you.

[Answer]

A : Let’s go watch some movies on the weekend
B : Sorry i got no money
A : Its alright i can treat you some food tomorrow
B : Let’s go then.
